4/24/20
To Our Monroe County Community,
We have been following information regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic closely and discussing a plan to safely reopen the park! The Recreation Board and I have made the following decisions regarding the reopening of our Park. We will allow the original shelter-in-place to expire. We will open the park gate on Friday, May 1st, 2020. This will allow our Grounds Maintenance to finish projects that were in progress while the park was closed. Governor Kemp’s reopening still discourages group gatherings, so the following will be the park status:
Park Gate: Open (outside exercise, walking, trails, etc.)
Park Gym: Closed
Park Exercise Room: Closed
Park Playground: Closed Signage (Strongly Discouraged)
Field Rentals: No Rentals at this time
Pavilion Rentals: No Rentals at this time
Organized Sports: None at this time
We will follow and encourage social distancing that is recommended from our leadership and medical communities. The board and I will reconvene the week of May 11th to further assess. Hopefully this will all be over soon and we can go back to business as usual or as close to possible. In the mean-time stay safe! We miss everyone!
Thank you!
Landon Sparks
