What does the registration fee cover?

Uniform that consists of a jersey, shorts, and game day socks.


When does the season begin and end?

We will hold assessments early August and practices will begin shortly thereafter. We will begin games by mid-September.


What days will we practice?

Coaches will schedule their team’s practices through the recreation department. The days and times may vary.

What days will games be played?
We are looking to have games on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Monday being our make-up day. This will vary depending on the number of teams we have in each age group.

What if I want to coach?
If you are interested in coaching or assisting you will need to come by the Youth Center and fill out an application to coach. Please bring your ID. Your application needs to be submitted and approved prior to assessments.

What does the registration fee cover?

Uniform that consists of a jersey, game day pants and socks.


When does the season begin and end?

All dates for football are set by the Southern Youth Football Conference. Conditioning week will be the week of July 22. Full pad practice will start Aug. 1st and the season will end mid-November.


How many games will football play?

There will be a total of 8 games.


Is football travel only?

All tackle football will be through Southern Youth Football Conference and will require travel. There will be 4 home games and 4 away games. Flag Football (6U) will be played here at Monroe County Parks and Rec. You may contact us for further information.


What locations are included in travel?

There are a number of surrounding counties that participate in SYFC. Some of the counties include: Lamar, Butts, Thomaston/Upson, Pike, Fayetteville, Locust Grove, etc.


What days will we practice?

Coaches will schedule their team’s practices through the recreation department. The days and times may vary.

What days will games be played?

Tackle football games will be played on Saturday. Although in the event of an odd number of teams in an age division, games may be played on weekdays. 6U will play on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday and will depend on total number of teams in the league.

What if I want to coach?

If you are interested in coaching or assisting you will need to come by the Youth Center and fill out an application to coach. Please bring your ID. Your application needs to be submitted and approved prior to July 19th. You will also be required to complete an online certification.

 

SPIRIT CHEERLEADING

Uniform that consists of a bottom, top, and pom poms.

How many games will cheerleaders perform?

There will be a total of 8 games.

Will cheerleaders travel too?

Yes. There will be 4 home games and 4 away games.

What locations are included in travel?

There are a number of surrounding counties that participate in SYFC. Some of the counties include: Lamar, Butts, Thomaston/Upson, Pike, Fayetteville, Locust Grove, etc.

What if I want to coach?

COMPETITION CHEERLEADING

What does the registration fee cover?

Uniform that consists of a bottom, top, and pom poms.

Is there additional cost for participating in both, spirit cheerleading and competition cheerleading?

Yes. Spirit Cheer and Competition Cheer are separate. However, if you decide to participate in both, there is a discounted price.
 

What if I want to coach?

If you are interested in coaching or assisting you will need to come by the Youth Center and fill out an application to coach. Please bring your ID. Your application needs to be submitted and approved prior to being on the side line or involved in practices.
